1970 Mustang Convertible

Very nice looking older Red paint with excellent red interior contrasted with like-new black convertible top. To say that this Mustang has lots of eye appeal is an understatement. The contrasting colors of red and black through out the whole car and those really cool and original w:st="on"Shelby wheels make this car something special.

The red on red color combination is very rare and according to Ford’s records courtesy of Marti Auto Works, there were only 22 Mustang Convertibles made like this with this rare Red on Red color combo - very rare indeed!  Please see the copy of the Marti report and you can see the 22 number in the Statistical section of the report. Another VERY important statistic to remember about the 1970 Convertibles is that they are by far the rarest of all the Series One Mustangs.  The 1969 convertibles are the next rarest in numbers produced and they made 14,598 of them.  There were only 7,820 Mustang convertibles made in 1970!!!!!!!! As I am sure you know rarity like this makes one car worth more than another car of similar condition. Also, please note the original selling dealer was Miracle Ford in w:st="on"> w:st="on"Dallas w:st="on"Texas.  This convertible, from what I have been able to ascertain, stayed in the < w:st="on">Dallas area with its original owner and then was purchased by a gentleman out of w:st="on" w:st="on"San Antonio.  According to the old style w:st="on" w:st="on"Texas title, he sold it to the 3rd owner in Dec of 1978.   The car then lived in Bryan Texas until just recently. It has obviously been garaged and pampered all of its life which can be seen by the fantastic condition of the body and floors. There are not many classic Mustangs that have a body and floors like this ca,r especially convertibles.

This very aggressive looking Mustang is loaded with just about everything you could buy in 1970. Your options currently on the car are front and rear spoiler, stereo cassette radio, power top, factory A/C, power steering and power disc brakes, dual racing mirrors, dual exhaust, larger front sway bar and added rear sway bar for better handling and a recently added Shelby console with oil pressure and amp gauges plus automatic transmission and that cool looking directional indicator hood scoop.  It also has some very rare 69/70 original w:st="on"w:st="on"Shelby wheels with BF Goodrich radial tires.  The interior which as you can see is in excellent shape has had upgrades with the optional deluxe Mach One dash with that really neat Mach One Rally Clock.   It has also had Mach One upgrades completed to the exterior of the car.  I recently talked to the man believed to be the second owner of the car and he told me that when he bought the car the Mach One upgrades both interior and exterior were already on the car. So, it is possible that the original owner had these done by the dealer.  The motor is a 302 V/8 which has lots of power and runs on regular fuel.  It has a C-4 automatic transmission. This Mustang convertible is really a pleasure to drive and to say that it gets a great deal of attention is an understatement.

It has had quite a bit of work done to it recently such as new heater core (not fun to do); fuel tank sending unit; front radius arm bushings; A/C charge, carburetor., overhaul, power convertible top cylinder, major tune-up and new oil and transmission fluid., new idler arm,  new sway bar bushings  front and rear,  new shocks front and rear shocks and  basically a complete overhaul of the power steering system including new cylinder and new hoses plus the hydraulic control valve, plus more that I am sure that I am forgetting.
