1965 RAVEN BLACK K CODE FASTBACK
THE HISTORY OF THE K CODE
The “K” code engine option made the Mustang a true Muscle Car. Historically it made these early Mustangs the First Mustang Muscle Cars. There were a number of notable items associated with these K code cars. There were 3 special Indy Pace Cars for the 1964 race that had the famous K code motor and 9 inch rear end with special suspension etc. These were the engines that were in the very historically significant 289 Cobras that dominated the streets, the race tracks and ultimately won the 1965 World GT Championship beating Ferrari. These were also the same engines that were in the original Ford GT 40’s that won races like Le Mans, Daytona, Sebring and lots more.
When Ford wanted Shelby to enhance the image of the Mustangs; Shelby picked the K code Fastback to start with and then modified it to be a Race car for the street. He built 37 all out competition cars and dominated the Corvettes, Jaguars and many other significant sports in the Sports Car Club of America Road Racing Championship series in 1965,66 and 67 winning the National B Production Championship in each one of those years. For you drag racers these engines held many course records throughout the United States.

DETAILS ON THIS CAR.....
This particular fastback is a very nice and proper car. I will list for you the items that it has on it that most K codes do not have.
1. IT DOES HAVE ITS ORIGINAL ENGINE
2. proper 4 blade fan
3. dual point distributor
4. K-code carb (probably the original)
5. 9 inch rear end
6. heavy duty suspension
7. K-code heads
8. engine dress up kit
9. solid lifters
10. 4-speed transmission with original and working Ford shifter
11. please note in the pics the K code choke which is normally missing
This particular K code has the rare and optional long console which is very nice. It has had the upgraded GT exhaust put on it which is nice and just very recently had a new exhaust system installed on the car. Another very neat upgrade is the rally pac with the 8000 RPM tachometer and clock(which keeps perfect time twice a day)...Ha..Ha
It has also had a brand new set of American Racing Torque Thrust D wheels installed on the car with new B F Goodrich tires. The other work that has been done includes: Brakes, Brake hoses changed, Shocks changed, New flowmaster exhaust, Tires/rims, dash lights Repair and repaired ground.
Do not hesitate to call me right away on this car as I am not sure how long it will last. It drives very nicely and always gets the thumbs up where ever it goes.
